U.S. History
8th grade U.S. History begins with studying the reasons for exploration to the New World. Students then learn concepts such as colonization and revolution as we explore the major events leading up to the American Revolution. We continue our studies by analyzing the details of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. In addition, the students will discover and learn about pivotal moments in history that led to the Civil War and its aftermath. We conclude our studies by examining various aspects of the Reconstruction (after the Civil War). Students in this class will receive the required knowledge and skills to be successful on learning objectives and the state standardized test, the STAAR test.
